The Parish Centre is situated on the main Sheffield Road just one mile from the
centre of Chesterfield.
It was built in 1870 as a
Church of England Primary School. Christ Church School was extended over the
years, and housed 200 pupils in that time. The school moved to its present site
on Tapton View Road in 1969.
The Centre's motto is ‘Something
for Everyone’ and that is what
The Parish Centre today is a very popular venue for business meetings, training sessions, seminars and concerts.
It offers a venue where communities can come together to enjoy themselves, meet other like-minded people, indulge
in a favourite hobby or pastime, or
celebrate a family event.
Birthday parties are also held in the Main Hall which is large enough to accommodate a good sized bouncy
castle, ball pool and disco.
With the Centre’s Main Hall having a seating capacity
of 90 and the 4 other rooms available
seating between 26 and 60 people the Centre is
suitable for a wide range of events.
